Our History
Once listed in the Guinness book of records, originally a Pigeon coup used by monks, the original structure has been dated as far as 793AD.
Since then we have been a place of sanctuary and relaxation for locals and visitors from around the world. The octagonal building has been wonderfully preserved thanks to the efforts of all the previous publicans and custodians over hundreds of years. There is nothing like it.
Music
Dedicated to keeping live music free, we host open mic nights, EP launches, Full bands and our yearly Famous Fighters festival.
Drink
We pride ourselves on buying locally and have a dedicated cellar man that ensures a perfect pint every time. Our wine is carefully chosen and also purchased from a local supplier.
Food
Traditional pub fare with a modern twist. Our award winning food has been impressing our guests for years. We are very proud of every dish and our Head Chef dreams up wonderful specials every day.
